How MemDecks handles learning data

memdecks uses account, card, translation, and game data to run the language-learning experience, sync progress, improve reliability, and support users.

Last updated: June 2026

This policy is written in plain language for product transparency. It should be reviewed before production legal reliance.

Information we collect

When you use memdecks, we may process your email address, authentication identifiers, display name, chosen study language, saved cards, learning progress, game activity, and basic device or browser information needed to keep the service working.

When you translate words, save cards, or play games, memdecks stores the data needed to show your collection, match vocabulary to games, and sync progress across devices when you sign in.

Accounts and authentication

memdecks uses Supabase for authentication. Supabase helps process sign-in, sign-up, email confirmation, password reset, and session security. Authentication emails are used to protect account access and verify ownership of the email address.

Guest sessions may be created so you can save learning data before creating a permanent account. When you create or sign in to a permanent account, memdecks may merge guest learning data into that account.

How we use data

  • To provide translation, flashcard, library, and game features.
  • To sync your cards, profile choices, and game progress across devices.
  • To protect the service from abuse and troubleshoot reliability issues.
  • To understand aggregate product usage when analytics are enabled.
  • To respond to support, moderation, or safety reports.

Analytics and diagnostics

memdecks may use product analytics and error monitoring when configured. Analytics are intended to measure product usage and improve the service. We avoid identifying anonymous guest sessions as permanent users.

Games and third-party content

Some games may be created or operated by independent developers and displayed through memdecks. Those games may receive the account and vocabulary data needed to run the selected game. Developers are expected to follow memdecks integration and content rules.

More detail is available on the Third-Party Games page.

Sharing and service providers

We use service providers to operate memdecks, including hosting, authentication, database, analytics, error monitoring, image, translation, and text-to-speech providers. We do not sell personal learning data.
