Questions and answers
Is MemDecks free?
Yes. MemDecks is free to use and has no paid tier as of 2 September 2026 — no subscription, no trial, no card required, and no advertising in the app. Creating an account costs an email address or a Google sign-in. The pricing page states this in full, including what changes if paid tiers are ever introduced.
Do I need an account to use MemDecks?
No. Visiting MemDecks creates a guest session that can save cards, play games and follow topic packs straight away. An account exists so that a collection survives the browser it was made in, and it removes the limits that apply to a guest session. Signing up later merges everything the guest built into the new account.
What happens to my cards if I do not create an account?
They live in the guest session, which is tied to one browser. Clearing browser storage, switching device or leaving the session idle can lose them; MemDecks may delete anonymous accounts that have been inactive for 30 days. If you would mind losing your collection, create an account — that is the entire reason accounts exist.
Which languages can I learn?
Sixteen as of 2 September 2026: Armenian, Greek, Russian, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Arabic, Ukrainian, Serbian, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Croatian and Turkish. All of them are learned from English, which is the pivot rather than a study language. See supported languages for what each one has.
Can I learn two languages at once?
You can hold cards in several study languages, but MemDecks shows one at a time. Switching study language in Profile swaps which collection, topic packs and games you see; nothing is deleted and your other collections are waiting when you switch back.
Does MemDecks use spaced repetition?
No, not in the interval-scheduling sense. There are no review dates, no ease factors and no due queue. A card carries a practice budget called card HP and comes back until that budget is spent. The full explanation is here.
What does the percentage on a card mean?
Score divided by card HP. Card HP is the practice budget the card was given when it was created, based on how hard that word is in your study language; score is credit games add for correct answers. See card progress.
Why can I not see a game?
One of three reasons, and MemDecks says which: your collection is below the card count the game requires, the game supports only certain study languages and yours is not one of them, or the game is temporarily unavailable. The requirements for every game are listed on the games page.
How do games use my cards?
A game receives the cards from your collection that meet its requirements, plus a short-lived session token. It does not receive your password, your email address, or cards in any other study language. Some games are made by independent developers — see the third-party game policy.
How do I report a problem with a game?
Email support@memdecks.com with the game name, what happened and a screenshot if you have one.
Can I import my Anki decks?
Yes, in beta. MemDecks reads an exported .apkg package and converts its notes into cards. Anki 23 and later can export a compressed collection format MemDecks cannot read; if the import is refused, re-export from Anki with "Support older Anki versions" enabled.
Why does a word have no audio?
Audio is generated in the background and stored, so a word MemDecks has never spoken before can be silent for a few seconds after you save it and gain a speaker button shortly after. All 16 study languages have audio; Armenian and Greek use a Gemini voice profile and the rest use the standard Google voice.
I did not receive a confirmation or password-reset email.
Check the spam and promotions folders, confirm the address was typed correctly, and request a new email. If it still does not arrive, contact support@memdecks.com.
Can I play MemDecks with someone else?
Yes. Words Tetris takes up to four players, Lexi Spy and Mirror Decks take two. Join by quick match or by sharing a private room code. Each player brings their own cards. See multiplayer.
Does MemDecks work on a phone?
Yes. MemDecks runs in a mobile browser with no installation. There is no native iOS or Android app as of 2 September 2026.
Who makes MemDecks?
MemDecks is built by Sergey Belousov in Yerevan, Armenia. The about page says who, why, and how to get in touch.
Still stuck
Email support@memdecks.com. It reaches the person who builds MemDecks; there is no support queue in between. Include your study language and what you were doing, and a screenshot if the problem is visual.
